A one-minute stroll from Hiroden’s Dobashi stop brings you to Yashu Taku, a Michelin one-star kappo tucked down a quiet lane. The tiled eaves, pale wood, and crisp white noren set a calm tone before you even step inside. Chef Takushi Sugimoto trained for five years at Kyoto’s Kikunoi, traveled abroad, then honed his craft back in Hiroshima. The menu follows the seasons, spotlighting Setouchi seafood, Jersey beef from Nihonmatsu Farm, and local vegetables. With an open kitchen and a relaxed, airy dining room, you can watch each dish come together—thoughtful, comforting, and surprisingly approachable in price and welcome.
